JCB Toughphone invented the ‘rugged’ mobile phone back in 2007. Massive success followed across the world and over the next decade in retailers including Carphone Warehouse, ASDA, Sainsbury and EE. In 2023 the JCB Toughphone has come back with a bang!
Brief
JCB is an iconic British and global brand, synonymous with hard working, heavy machinery that helps build our towns and farm our countryside. The JCB Toughphone carries all the same characteristics as a JCB machine.
The new product launch required a full marketing mix and Nuddy Media have been tasked with achieving the best possible launch on a modest budget. Nuddy Media has risen to the challenge including building a new website, managing social media, orchestrating a PR campaign and providing support on product documentation.
Given the nature of the JCB Toughphone, the marketing launch is across multiple channels, business and consumer sectors and all with a fluid timescale as the phones are being built and shipped from China.
Result
On June 22nd www.jcbphone.com went live, offering consumers the ability to pre order a JCB Toughphone the day it was announced to the world. Simultaneously existing social media sites (Instagram, Facebook and LinkedIn) were rebranded and content loaded. National and international press carried the story of the new JCB Toughphone launch.
